The Humantechnik S/PDIF box is a digital-to-analogue converter for audio signals.
With this box it is possible to connect a TV with only digital audio output with any of our headphones. All our headphones require analogue inputs, however modern flat screen televisions are increasingly omitting these from their designs. If you do not have a SCART or Audio Out sockets on the rear of your TV but only a "Digital Audio" or similarly named socket then this is the converter that you will need.
The box is equipped with one line-in connection jack each for coaxial and optical cables and the desired input mode can be selected by a switch.
Digital audio signals received by the line-in ports are transformed to analogue audio signals which are provided by the two Phono (RCA) connectors. A 1m optical Toslink cable and a 0.5m coaxial digital audio connection cable are also included
Please note that a separate mains socket near the TV will be needed to power this. As our headphone base units also need mains power there must be two spare mains sockets available near your TV for it to work correctly.
